(May 17, 1922- ) Born Wilson Floyd Minor in Hammond, Louisiana; after high school in Bogalusa, studied journalism at Tulane, graduating in 1943. Worked for Bogalusa Enterprise in 1939 and while in college as part-time reporter for New Orleans Times-Picayune. Served aboard U.S. Navy destroyer in the Pacific during World War II, and was awarded 12 battle stars; after the war, joined staff of Times-Picayune. Beginning in 1947 served as Times-Picayune's Mississippi correspondent, a position he held until 1976, when the paper closed Jackson bureau; afterward worked as owner/editor of Capitol Reporter (1976-81) and as statewide syndicated columnist. Taught journalism at University of Mississippi (1983-84). Currently lives in Jackson, Mississippi.
